Garden Tales Mahjong 2

Garden Tales Mahjong 2 answers the first game’s main limitation with sheer volume: more than 250 puzzle layouts ship with the sequel, drawn in the same garden style SOFTGAMES carried over from their match-three original. For the rule in plain words, see the rules of the solitaire board.

Two ways in are provided. Quick Play drops you onto a board with no preamble, while Chapters Mode keeps most of the collection locked behind progress, so finishing puzzles opens more of them. That structure gives a long session the spine the first game did not have, and it changes how the 250 layouts are rationed out. A second stacked layout here is Fish Mahjong.

The tile rules are unchanged from ordinary solitaire stacks: identical pairs, removed once nothing blocks them, until the flowerbed is bare. What the sequel adds is the number of arrangements those rules are applied to, and a reason to keep returning to the chapter list. 1. Pick Quick Play for an immediate board, or open Chapters Mode to work through the collection in order.
2. Spot two identical garden tiles with nothing stacked on top of them.
3. Select the pair to clear it and free the tiles underneath.
4. Finish the layout to unlock further puzzles in the chapter.

• Use Quick Play to warm up — in Garden Tales Mahjong 2 the chapter puzzles are worth attacking once your eye is in.
• Follow the chapters for variety — the locked puzzles are the ones you have not learned by heart.
• Clear the upper layers early — with 250 layouts, the shapes change but the buried-tile problem does not.
• Note which layouts beat you — the collection is large enough that returning to a specific shape is deliberate work.
