Flash Mahjong Games
These are the titles this site collected in its first years, built in Flash between roughly 2005 and 2012. Browsers dropped Flash at the end of 2020, and for a while these boards were simply gone. They run again here through Ruffle, an open-source emulator that reads the original files and draws them with modern web technology.
Emulation is honest work rather than a restoration. The tiles, the layouts and the scoring are exactly what the studios shipped; what can wander is the trim around them — sound that arrives late, a menu button that needs a second click, an animation that runs slightly fast on a modern processor. If a board misbehaves, reloading the page usually settles it.
Worth knowing: several of these games have no modern equivalent anywhere. Jewel Quest, The Mah-Jongg Key and Magic Links were made by studios that no longer exist, in a decade when a puzzle could be strange without being explained. That is the reason this shelf still exists.
The screenshots on these pages are from the games themselves rather than from a publisher's press kit, because in most cases there is no press kit left to take them from.
