Threes, not pairs, drive Mahjong Cooking. Tiles leave the board in groups of three, and the group has to work as an ingredient set, so clearing a level means assembling a recipe rather than sweeping identical faces off a stack.
That single change makes the board read differently. A tile you would happily remove in a pair game may be the third ingredient a later dish needs, and taking it early leaves that recipe permanently short. Working out which dish you are building, and then which tiles it wants, is the order that succeeds here. The Duels board lays the same tiles out in another silhouette.
Each level runs against a timer, so the recipe has to be finished as well as understood. A hint is available for the moment a dish stalls, and it is worth keeping for the levels where an ingredient is buried rather than spending it on the first pause. A neighbour from the same shelf is the Dark Dimensions board.
The kitchen art is busy and the tiles carry small ingredient pictures, which is why full screen is the difference between recognising an ingredient and guessing at it. The board plays with a mouse on the desktop and with taps on a touchscreen. Working the covered edges first pays in the Monster Triple board as well.

How to Play
- Check which dish the level is asking for before you touch anything.
- Find three tiles that belong to that recipe and are reachable on the board.
- Match them as a group of three to add the ingredients to the dish.
- Complete the recipe before the timer runs out to finish the level.
- Spend a hint if the last ingredient of a dish is nowhere to be seen.
Tips & Tricks
- Read the dish first — knowing the recipe tells you which tiles to protect instead of clearing on sight.
- Threes change the maths — an ingredient taken as part of the wrong group leaves a later dish one tile short.
- Clear towards buried ingredients — the timer usually runs out on a recipe waiting for a tile under the pile.
- Keep the hint for a stall — it is most valuable when a dish is one ingredient away and the board looks closed.
- Cook in full screen — the ingredient pictures are small and the kitchen backdrop is crowded behind them.
