Sea Monsters Mahjong

Lof Games replaces the suit symbols with things that live below the waterline. Krakens, dolphins and mermaids surface as the stack comes apart, and the reveal is part of the appeal — you clear a tier partly to see what is under it. The draw rule is stated exactly: a tile can be taken only when it sits on top of a stack with no blocks on its sides. That is stricter than it sounds, because the two conditions rule out both the tile buried under another and the one wedged between neighbours, and on a dense underwater layout most tiles fail one of them at any given moment. Pairs leave the stack the same way in the Pirate Plunder Journey pile.

The board is drawn at 1280 by 720, one of the widest frames in this batch, which gives the sea-creature artwork room to stay distinct — mermaid against kraken is an easy call at that size and a harder one in a small window. Mahjong Tour asks the same question of a taller pile.

1. Scan the underwater stack for tiles sitting on top with nothing on either side.
2. Find two of them showing the same sea creature.
3. Draw the pair to remove it and reveal what was beneath.
4. Work through the depths until the last kraken and mermaid have gone.

• Check the sides, then the top — a tile on the surface of the stack is still stuck if creatures press it from both flanks.
• Open a corridor — clearing a short run along one edge frees far more of the board than picking off scattered singles.
• Tell the creatures apart early — dolphins and mermaids share a silhouette on small tiles, and a misread pair costs a move.
• Play it wide — the 1280 by 720 canvas is drawn for a full-size screen, and shrinking it flattens the artwork the game leans on.
