Mahjong Pirate Plunder Journey runs on stars rather than a single score. Every level in the Playtouch campaign hands out up to three: one for clearing the board, a second for doing it without touching a hint, a third for beating the level time limit. Stars unlock the next stretch of levels and the backgrounds behind them. Another entry from the same shelf is 3D Mahjong.

The board itself is orthodox pair matching on a multi-layered stack, and the pirate frame — a quest for the pearl treasure, sea music, 2020 artwork — sits around it. What changes the play is the three-star rule: a hint that would rescue you also costs a star, so the honest way through a hard layout is to plan the whole descent before the first click. The same free-tile rule governs Fortuna 2.

A daily challenge board adds stars, gold and diamonds on top of the main run, which is long — the campaign counts its levels in the thousands. The build is drawn tall at 600 by 800 for phones and tablets, so on a desktop the full screen mode is what turns that narrow strip into a readable board. Treasure Island sits on the same shelf of gentler boards.

1. Pick a level from the Caribbean map and read the layered stack.
2. Match pairs of identical tiles that are free on a side to remove them.
3. Work down through the layers before the level time limit expires.
4. Skip hints if you want the second star, and clear fast for the third.
5. Spend the stars you earn to unlock further levels and backgrounds.

• Take the daily board — it pays stars, gold and diamonds on top of the campaign.
• Open the deepest column first — the pirate layouts hide their duplicates under the tall stacks.
