Mahjong Zen Garden

Mahjong Zen Garden asks one question before the first tile: campaign or endless. The campaign is a fixed run of 120 levels, each a different arrangement; endless mode has to be unlocked by playing well, and it exists for people who want the board to keep coming rather than to finish. The dressing is what Gametok singles out: a garden built on an Eastern atmosphere, drawn at a full 1920 by 1080. That width matters on a desktop monitor, because the outer ranks of a wide layout stay legible instead of shrinking into a smear. Underneath the styling the puzzle is the old Chinese one — find two free tiles carrying the same symbol and lift them off. Solitaire Mahjong Candy piles the tiles into a different silhouette.

Choosing the mode is the real decision here. The campaign gives a curve, a fixed set of arrangements that change shape as they go, with an end you can reach; endless mode, once earned, keeps dealing gardens for as long as you keep clearing them. 3. Click one and then the other to lift the pair away and expose what lay beneath.
4. Clear the whole arrangement to close the level and move on to the next garden.

• Use the width — Zen Garden is drawn at 1920 by 1080, so a maximised window shows the far ranks without squinting.
• Treat endless as a different game — with no final stage waiting, the aim shifts from finishing an arrangement to keeping one solvable.
• Take the deepest legal pair — of two available matches, clear the one that uncovers a covered symbol rather than one already loose.
