Halloween Mahjong

Pumpkins, disembodied eyes and witches’ hats replace the suits on this board, and the palette stays in orange and black throughout. Halloween Mahjong is a straightforward tile-matching layout underneath the costume: identical pairs come off, the stack beneath is exposed, and a level ends when the field is empty. Working the covered edges first pays in Mahjongg Alchemy as well.

Every level is timed, and the difficulty climbs as you advance rather than staying flat. Later formations pack more pieces into the same footprint, so the scan takes longer while the clock does not grow more generous. That combination is what makes the middle levels the ones players stall on, long after the opening boards have started to feel routine. Pairs leave the stack the same way in 10 Mahjong.

One mercy the seasonal boards do not always offer: the music can be switched off. The spooky loop is atmospheric for a level or two and grating by the fifth, and the toggle sits right there. Full screen is worth having on as well, because orange-on-black pieces are lower in contrast than a standard suit set and the eyes and hats read badly at window size. 1. Find two identical spooky pieces that are free to select.
2. Click both to remove the pair and uncover whatever sat below.
3. Clear the whole field before the level clock runs out.
4. Expect the formations to tighten as you advance, and plan the scan accordingly.

• Turn the music off — the toggle is there, and quiet makes a timed scan noticeably easier.
• Uncover first, match second — pairs that free buried pieces are what keep the later levels solvable.
• Sort by shape, not colour — almost everything on this field is orange, so the silhouette is the reliable cue.
• Attack the top of the stack — the upper tier is where the formation is loosest.
• Full screen raises the contrast — the dark background swallows piece edges in a small window.
