Mahjong Connect

Agame states the brief for this board in a single line: connect the pieces and clear the board. Nothing else is documented, neither a level count nor a clock nor a scoring scheme, so what you get is the rule in its plainest form. The Connect list collects the boards of this kind in one place.

Boards in this family usually work the same way. Two identical pieces come off together when a clear path can be drawn between them, and the difficulty lives in the order of removals rather than in any twist. A piece hemmed in by neighbours has to wait for one of them to go, which is why the middle of a crowded grid is always the last part to fall. A path with at most two corners clears pairs in Cold Drink Connection as well.

The one thing this build does differently is its shape. At 1250 by 916 it is markedly taller than the usual wide link board, so the grid stacks upward and the eye travels vertically. Touch input is supported alongside the mouse. The corridor habit carries straight over to the Jewel Link board.

1. Find two pieces on the grid that carry the same face.
2. Click one and then the other to connect them.
3. Both pieces leave the board once the connection is made.
4. Repeat until nothing remains and the board is clear.

• Start at the rim — in Agame's build the tall grid crowds towards its middle, so the outer pieces are where the free routes are.
• Follow the vertical — the 1250 by 916 frame stacks the board upward, and scanning in columns finds pairs faster than sweeping sideways.
• Take triples carefully — where three matching faces sit on the grid, remove the two that leave the third with an open neighbour.
• Clear towards the crowd — every removal near a packed cluster opens a route for the pieces behind it, so work inward deliberately.
