Mahjong Pet Quest

Pet Quest keeps the frame of a classic tile board and swaps the suits for animals: every face is a creature, and the pairing you are looking for is two of the same beast rather than two of the same bamboo count. The rest of them are gathered in the Dimensions shelf.

That swap changes the reading more than it sounds. Suit tiles differ by number and get scanned almost arithmetically; the animals in Mahjong Pet Quest differ by silhouette and colour, so the eye hunts shapes instead of counting strokes. LUCKY TRY spreads the game across a run of levels, and the layouts get harder as you move through them rather than repeating one grid. Freeing the lower rows early matters in the Silkroad pile as well.

Early stages are gentle enough to clear by instinct, which is exactly where the habit forms that later boards punish: taking the first visible pair. Once the stacks deepen, the question is which of two identical animals to spend, because one of them is holding a whole column shut. Another layout to unstack is the Mania board.

1. Scan the open faces for two animals of the same species — matching goes by picture, not by rank.
2. Boards of this kind free a tile when nothing rests on it and a side is open, so check both before you commit.
3. Click the first creature, then its twin; the pair leaves and exposes whatever sat beneath it.
4. Empty the layout to close the level, then start the next arrangement in the run.

• Sort by silhouette — the Pet Quest animals repeat across similar palettes, so the outline separates them faster than the colour does.
• Prefer the pair that opens the board — of the matches available, take the one whose removal uncovers a buried tile.
• Look under the top row — a stage in this quest gets harder mainly by stacking deeper, not by adding new rules.
• Slow down on the easy stages — the reflexes you build early are what strand you once the layouts tighten.
