Pet Tile Master

Pet Tile Master is not a solitaire layout at all. It belongs to the tray family, where tiles are drawn off a pile into a holding rack and matched there. The rack holds nine, and that number is the whole tension of the game. The whole list is kept in the Kids section.

Each pick sends a pet tile into the tray; three identical animals clear together and hand their slots back. Draw one stray creature too many and the rack runs out of room — fill all nine and the run ends on the spot, which is why the tile you take next matters more than the tile you can see. The African Dream pile keeps the pace of this one.

Lof Games buries tiles under others, so part of every level is uncovering what is hidden without clogging the rack. At 1280 by 720 the pile is drawn large enough to plan two or three draws ahead. Only tiles with an open side move in the Street Cafe pile too.

1. Click or tap a pet tile on the pile to draw it into the nine-slot tray.
2. Get three identical animals into the tray and they clear, returning their slots.
3. Take tiles that uncover what is hidden underneath rather than whatever lies nearest.
4. Keep the tray below nine at all times, because filling it ends the run.
5. Clear the pile to complete the level.

• Count the slots, not the tiles — Pet Tile Master ends when nine sit in the tray, so free space is the resource you manage.
• Draw in threes — pulling an animal you can complete straight away costs nothing in rack room.
• Dig, do not skim — a tile lifted off the top of the pile reveals the pets you will need later on.
• Leave singles late — one lone creature parked in the tray is a slot you will not see again until two more like it turn up.
