Feed the Parrot

The framing device in Feed the Parrot is a hungry bird: every fruit tile cleared goes towards filling the parrot up, and a stage is done when the playing field is empty. The Kids shelf lists every board filed under this heading.

Mechanically it is a sorting puzzle rather than a stacked one. Identical fruit tiles are combined to clear the field, and clearing a field opens the next level, so progress arrives as a chain of small boards instead of one long layout. GamePush keeps the difficulty comfortable rather than escalating it, and the backgrounds and challenges vary from one session to the next. The Battle board stands next to this one in the same list.

The art is pixel work, bright and blocky, at 800 by 600. There is a competitive side as well: results are set against other players, which gives a reason to run a field you have already emptied a second time. Fruits Mahjong belongs to the same easy-going list.

1. Look over the field for fruit tiles that match one another.
2. Combine the identical ones to take them off the playing field.
3. Keep going until the field is clear and the parrot has been fed.
4. Move on to the next level, which opens as soon as the last one is emptied.
5. Run a field again if you want a better standing against the other players.

• Feed in bulk — spotting several matching fruit at once beats hunting one pair across the whole field.
• Watch the pixel palette — Feed the Parrot draws its fruit blocky, so colour tells you more than outline does.
• Treat each stage as short — the fields are small, and the next opens the moment the current one is empty.
• Come back for the standing — a cleared field can be run again to improve where you sit among other players.
