The link rule is the strict two-turn one: a path between two identical creatures may bend twice and no more, so a tile boxed into the middle of the layout waits until its neighbours have gone. The developer pitches the game at focus and visual perception, and that is a fair description of where the effort goes: the hard part is spotting a legal pair, not executing it. On the 800 by 600 board, the habit that helps most is scanning rows before columns, since a straight horizontal run needs no turns at all. 2. Trace whether the path between them would bend more than twice.
3. Match the pair to clear both tiles from the grid.
