Cards Connect

A playing-card grid from bestphysics: twelve levels, three lines to connect a pair, and every match buying back a little clock.

Cards Connect

The deck replaces the tile set entirely. What lies on the grid are playing cards, and a pair only counts when rank and suit both agree, so the seven of hearts wants the other seven of hearts and not the seven of spades.

Connection is the second rule. A route joining two cards may be built from no more than three lines, which leaves a card sitting deep in the grid with neighbours on every side unreachable until those neighbours start disappearing. The Slidon board stands next to this one in the same list.

Twelve levels wait behind that, and the clock behaves as a resource rather than a deadline: each successful match adds time, so a run collapses gradually rather than suddenly. Fall behind on the rate of matching and the additions stop covering the drain. The Winter grid is filed under the same heading here.

bestphysics laid the grid out at 900 by 660, wide enough that full screen genuinely helps when a link has to travel from one side to the other. A hint and a shuffle are available if the cards jam, and touch works if you would rather tap them than click. Butterfly Match Mastery was filed here for the same reason.

How to Play

  1. Find two cards that share both rank and suit.
  2. Trace a route between them using no more than three lines.
  3. Confirm that no other card sits anywhere on that path.
  4. Click the pair to take it off the grid and add time to the clock.
  5. Clear all twelve levels in turn.

Tips & Tricks

  • Keep the matches coming — every pair returns time, so a steady rhythm is worth more than one clever find.
  • Open the outside first — cards on the border need shorter routes, and clearing them shortens everything else.
  • Check the suit, not just the rank — two sevens are not a pair here unless the suits agree as well.
  • Count the segments — three lines is the limit, and a route needing a fourth is not a legal connection.
  • Leave a spare pair standing — when four identical cards are open, taking two keeps the other two as an emergency move.
