Virus Mahjong Connection
The oddest theme on the shelf: virus tiles paired through two bends, a countdown on every level and music that moves with it.

Virus Mahjong Connection took the pandemic years as a tile theme, and the result is a field covered in cartoon virus shapes. The rule is connection: two identical faces clear when a line can join them with no more than two bends, and that line cannot cross another tile on the way.
A countdown sits on every level, and the music moves with it — the soundtrack is dynamic rather than ambient, which makes the last thirty seconds of a field feel different from the first thirty. The question the game keeps asking is how far up the level count you can get before one of those countdowns beats you. One more board of that sort is the Hats Connect board.
Because the line cannot cut through standing pieces, the edges are the place to start. Shapes at the rim have the clear space a bend needs; the ones in the middle are only reachable once the field around them has thinned. Pacing yourself against the clock is more useful than hunting one particular design. Everything else of this sort is in the Tower section.
The 900 by 600 stage accepts taps as well as clicks, and the full screen toggle helps with a genuine problem on this board: several of the virus designs differ only in the spike pattern. For a second flat pair-up, there is Connect Animals : Onet Kyodai.
Controls
Mouse on desktop, or tap a tile on a touchscreen.
How to Play
- Find two tiles showing the identical virus shape.
- Trace a line between them with no more than two bends.
- Confirm the line does not cross any tile still on the field.
- Select both tiles to remove them.
- Clear the field before the countdown reaches zero.
Tips & Tricks
- Work the edges — pieces at the border have the free space a bend needs, and clearing them exposes the middle.
- Listen to the music — the dynamic track follows the countdown and tells you when to stop being choosy.
- Check for blockers — a route through a standing piece is not a legal connection here.
- Match on sight — hesitating is what loses a level, not picking the plainer pair.
- Play it enlarged — full screen separates the designs that differ only in their spikes.
