Mahjong Quest: Candyland Adventures

Monstera Games wraps a pair-matching board in a sweet-shop road trip: the setting is a land made of candy, the streets are sprinkled with treats, and every tile taken is one more sweet collected along the way. A longer explanation of the rule sits in How to Win at Mahjong Solitaire.

Under the theme the job is plain — find the snacky pairs, clear the board, and the next stretch of Candyland opens up. Progress reads as a journey rather than a level counter, so what an emptied layout buys you is a fresh set of candy-coated tiles and a new corner of the map. Freeing the lower rows early matters in Mahjong King as well.

In layouts like this one a tile normally comes free when its top is bare and a side is exposed, which is why the sweets around the rim of a pile go first. The build runs at 800 by 600 and takes touch as well as mouse. The Pet Quest pile piles the tiles into a different silhouette.

1. Look over the layout for two tiles showing the same treat.
2. Make sure each sits uncovered with a free side before you pick it.
3. Click both to collect the pair and take it off the board.
4. Clear the whole layout to move further into Candyland.

• Collect from the rim inward — the sweets along the edge of a pile are the ones that will actually lift.
• Match by wrapper colour — Candyland Adventures draws its treats bright, and palette separates them faster than shape.
• Empty the top rows — every tile removed up there turns buried sweets into playable ones.
• Read the board before clearing — the quest moves on only when the last pair has gone, so it pays to know where the awkward treats are sitting.
