Candy Mahjong Tiles

Candy Mahjong Tiles works on the left-or-right rule: a sweet can be collected only when one of its horizontal sides is clear. Stack a tile on top of another and the one below is still available; put a tile beside it and it locks. Pairs come off by clicking or tapping, and a level closes when every tile has found its match. The Solitaire Candy 2 board sits beside this one among the layered boards.

The timer is optional, which is unusual and worth knowing before you start. Left off, the candy boards are a slow sorting exercise; switched on, the same layouts turn into a scramble, and the difference in how the game feels is larger than the setting suggests. Boards run in a series and each one has to be cleared completely to reach the next, so a single stranded pair costs the whole level. The practical defence is to open the upper layers early rather than picking off easy edge pairs. Lof Games drew the sweets in saturated colours at 800 by 450, and since several wrappers share a palette, full screen is what keeps two similar candies from looking identical. The Tropical pile lays the same tiles out in another silhouette.

1. Decide whether to run the optional timer before starting the level.
2. Find two identical sweets, each open on its left or right side.
3. Click or tap the pair to collect it.
4. Open the upper layers early so that no candy is left stranded.
5. Match every candy on the board to complete the level and unlock the next.
