Flower Dimensions

Flower Dimensions builds its boards in three dimensions rather than laying tiles flat. Blooms are arranged into a solid shape, and a good part of each level goes on working out which faces are genuinely exposed and which only look it.

Matching itself is simple: two identical flowers, selected in turn with a mouse or a fingertip. The judgement is in reading depth, because a shape built in three dimensions hides more of itself than a flat grid ever does. The Dimensions block asks for the same spin-first, match-second order.

Levels run on a timer and grow harder as you go. A hint and a shuffle are available for a board that offers nothing, and the shuffle is the more valuable of the two once the arrangement has thinned out. The rest of them are gathered in the Best New shelf.

The HTML5 build works on phones, tablets, laptops and desktops. Full screen is the setting that matters most for a three-dimensional board: depth cues are what you are reading, and they compress badly in a small frame. Another board that spins between matches is the Flower Tower board.

Mouse, or tap on a touchscreen.

How to Play

  1. Look over the three-dimensional arrangement before touching anything.
  2. Select two identical flower tiles with a mouse or a tap.
  3. Remove pairs until the whole shape is gone.
  4. Clear each level before its timer expires to reach the next, harder one.

Tips & Tricks

  • Read depth first — Flower Dimensions hides tiles behind the shape as well as underneath it.
  • Work one face at a time — clearing a single side of the arrangement exposes more than picking evenly all over it.
  • Keep the shuffle for the endgame — a thinned-out arrangement is where the legal pairs run out.
  • Watch the clock on later levels — the arrangements get harder as you progress, and the timer does not sympathise.
  • Play in full screen — depth cues are what you are reading here, and they compress in a small window.
