Flat, modern graphics replace carved ivory in Mahjong Digital, but the rules underneath are pure connect. Tiles lie in a grid and clear in pairs, provided the line drawn between them turns no more than twice and crosses no other tile. The sleek set makes fast scanning easier than traditional bone faces do.

The line rule is what you are actually playing. Two right-angle turns is not much room, so the board reads as a network of corridors: which tiles have a clear run to the edge, and which are walled in by neighbours that must go first. The Cakes Connect grid is matched by path rather than by stack, the same way.

Every level is timed. A hint and a shuffle are there for a grid that locks, and both are better spent late, since the later levels are the ones that leave you short. Mahjong Connect Tips takes the same rules apart step by step.

Wanted 5 Games B.V. released this HTML5 build in 2021 at a compact native size, and it takes a mouse or a tap equally well. Full screen is worth the click: a two-turn route is far easier to trace when the grid is scaled up. Two turns and nothing in the way is also the rule in the Squid Connect board.

1. Find two tiles with the same face somewhere on the grid.
2. Trace the line between them: it may bend twice at most and must not cross another tile.
3. Click or tap the pair to clear it.
4. Empty the grid before the level timer reaches zero.
5. Use a hint or a shuffle if no legal connection is left.

• Read the corridors — Mahjong Digital rewards spotting which tiles already have a clear run out to the edge.
• Peel the perimeter — clearing edge tiles opens routes for everything walled in behind them.
• Bank the hints — the later levels are the ones that leave you short of time.
• Shuffle only on a dead grid — a rearranged board takes time to re-read, and the clock does not stop for it.
• Go full screen — the native frame is small, and a two-turn path is easier to judge scaled up.
