Stylish Purses Mahjong

Stylish Purses Mahjong builds its deck out of handbags: clutches, totes, shoulder bags and evening purses in a range of colours and finishes, stacked into a standard solitaire arrangement. The 2022 build keeps the rules plain and puts the interest in telling one bag from another.

A tile is playable when it is free on at least two sides, and that condition decides the order of everything else. Two matching totes deep in the stack are unusable until the bags flanking them are cleared, so each removal is really a decision about what to unlock next. The same discipline about buried tiles applies in the Solitaire board.

No clock runs, so the arrangement can be studied as long as you like, and clearing every purse finishes the board. Hints are there when the pattern refuses to resolve, and a shuffle, where the layout provides one, redeals what is left. Freeing the lower rows early matters in The Key as well.

Full screen is what makes the deck workable: the difference between two black handbags is a clasp or a strap, and a small window turns them into the same dark rectangle. Working from the top layers down keeps more of the collection reachable than clearing the easy fringe. Empress Mahjong: Jade Palace builds the layers into another arrangement.

1. Look over the stacked handbags and find two of exactly the same design.
2. Select tiles that are free on at least two sides, with nothing resting above them.
3. Take the pair off the board and open up the bags it was covering.
4. Continue until the entire collection has been cleared away.
