Mahjong Deluxe Plus

Mahjong Deluxe Plus is the traditional stacking form rather than a link puzzle: identical tiles come off in pairs until the pile is gone. Code This Lab srl released this build in 2022 and leaned on the heritage deliberately, presenting it as an introduction to the ancient Chinese tradition, while modernising none of the rules.

Eighteen layouts sit behind the menu, and they are graded rather than merely ordered: four easy, six medium and eight hard. That balance is unusual — most collections front-load the gentle boards — and it puts the real game in the back half of Deluxe Plus. A newcomer has four shapes to learn on; a player who knows the form has eight built to resist them. Working the covered edges first pays in Mahjong Ready as well.

A piece can be taken only when it is free on at least one long side and has nothing resting on top. On the harder shapes that single condition is what the design attacks: pieces are stacked so the pair you want is open on one side and walled on the other, and the move that frees it usually costs a pair somewhere else.

Nothing is counting down. There is no time limit at all, so the pressure comes from the layout instead of a clock, and a hard shape can be studied for as long as it takes. A hint points out one legal pair and a shuffle redeals the pieces that remain, but hints are charged against your score — the argument for spending them at the end of a board rather than the start.

The stage is 1920 by 1080, the largest here, drawn for a mouse. That resolution is why the full screen toggle earns more here than elsewhere: squeezed into a window, the suit marks on a hard layout shrink into near-identical smudges, while at full height every layer separates. It runs on mobile as well as desktop, though the densest shapes ask a lot of a small screen. Pet Tile Master builds the layers into another arrangement.

1. Open the layout menu and choose a shape: four are easy, six medium and eight hard.
2. Read along the edges of the pile for pieces that are free on at least one long side and carry nothing on top.
3. Select two identical free pieces to lift them off the board.
4. Work down through the upper layers, since every removal exposes what was underneath.
5. Clear the whole shape to finish it and move on to a harder one, calling a hint or a shuffle if the pile stops offering a legal pair.

• Read the ends of every row — a long side must be clear, so pieces sandwiched between two neighbours stay locked whatever sits above them.
• Break the tall stacks early — the pieces at the top of the pile block the most and are the cheapest to remove.
• Count your fours — when all four copies of a design are showing, taking the wrong two can bury the pair you needed.
• Spend hints late — they come off your score, so a hint on a nearly empty board costs less than one on a full pile.
• Play the 1920 by 1080 board in full screen — the hard shapes pack the pieces tightly, and full height is what keeps the suit marks readable.
